Port Fairy Basketball has a dedicated and enthusiastic group of referees who adjudicate games.

There are so many reasons to become a referee. Here are a few:

·         Earn money

·         Be physically active

·         Be involved in basketball (or get more involved)

·         Gain a better understanding of basketball and its rules

·         Improve various life skills such as communication, independence, confidence and decision making

Our referees receive support from the Port Fairy Basketball referee coordinator. A qualified referee instructor is also regularly hired to give the referees feedback and assess them to graduate to the next refereeing level

To begin refereeing, applicants must complete the ‘green-shirt course’. Port Fairy Basketball runs this course at different times and it is also run in nearby associations, including Warrnambool.
