Referees

Port Fairy Basketball has a dedicated and enthusiastic group of referees who adjudicate games.

If you have any questions about becoming a referee at Port Fairy Basketball, discover the answers below. You can also email us at portfairybasketball@gmail.com

There are so many reasons to become a referee. Here are a few:

·         Earn money

·         Be physically active

·         Be involved in basketball (or get more involved)

·         Gain a better understanding of basketball and its rules

·         Improve various life skills such as communication, independence, confidence and decision making

Our referees receive support from the Port Fairy Basketball referee supervisor.

To begin refereeing, applicants must complete the ‘green-shirt course’. Port Fairy Basketball runs this course at different times and it is also run in nearby associations, including Warrnambool.
