Coaches

At Port Fairy Basketball, we rely on dedicated volunteers to coach our junior domestic teams.

Typically, these coaches are parents, siblings, or other relatives of the players on the team. While a background in basketball can be helpful, it is not a requirement. What matters most is a willingness to encourage all players, ensure that the ball is shared equally, and give everyone a chance to play.

Our coaching coordinator is available to support coaches throughout the season. They can be contacted at pfbadomestic@gmail.com. The coordinator sends out helpful tips sheets to coaches, which can be accessed online.

If you are interested in coaching but are hesitant to take on the role alone, there are options for building your confidence. You can sit on the bench with another coach during a preceding session, talk to an experienced coach, or have someone sit on the bench with you as you begin coaching.
